Part of the residency is geared towards helping potential planters discern where God is calling them to plant. This is based upon the Spirit’s leading, an internal sense, personal desire, church confirmation, evangelistic opportunity and need as well as cultural fit. Choosing the place to plant is a huge decision and one we don’t take lightly. By the end of the first year it is our hope that there is a short list of cities that have need for a new church, are culturally accessible to the planter, and are confirmed by God in the context of community. The second year of the program will focus on the short list to exegete the potential communities and begin developing a strategy for planting.
